
The University of Central Missouri's Human Resources Office has created events for a week-long celebration on the 2nd full week of April, April 14th - 18th, 2025 to recognize the campus student employees. This is an occasion devoted to our hard-working, dedicated students that serve the departments of the University of Central Missouri.
1st Place - Linda Alviar
Linda worked for the Muleskinner. She received a $500 award sponsored by American Electric Cooperative, Inc.
2nd Place - Syerra Burnor
Syerra works for Airport Operations. She received a $250 award sponsored by McConnell & Associates.
3rd Place - Joni Roberts
Joni works for the Success Advising Center. She received a $100 award sponsored by Questec.
1st Place - Donavan Hoyes, Office of Human Resources - $500 prize sponsored by Associated Electric Cooperative, Incorporated
2nd Place - Kara Henderson, Career & Life Design Center - $250 prize sponsored by McConnell and Associates

Each year, the (NSEA) declares a full week in April to be National Student Employment Week.
Human Resources at the University of Central Missouri (UCM) is a member of NSEA. Here at UCM, over 1,000 students are employed by the university, playing a key role in our educational and operational excellence.
Student employees perform invaluable services with enthusiasm, dedication, and initiative. At the same time, they develop important skills and experience that will assist them in their future careers.
The purpose of this award is to recognize the outstanding contributions and achievements of students who work while attending college.

2026 Timetable
| December 1 |
UCM SEOTY nominations open for supervisor submision. |

January 31 |
UCM SEOTY nominations are due to the Human Resources by January 9th, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. |
|
January 12-16 |
All nominations are provided to the nomination committee. The nomination committee rubrics are due to Human Resources by January 16th at 5:00pm. |
|
January 20-23 |
The top three employees evaluated from the nomination committee will then move onto the interview committee to again be evaluated to determine UCM's first, second. and third place winners. |
| February 6 |
UCM's first place winner is submitted to MASEA by Feburary 6th. |

National Student Employee of the Year is selected and winner's school is notified by the NSEA President. |
|
April 13 - 17 |
National Student Employment Week observed April 13th - 17th. National SEOTY winner announced and runner-up finalists notified. National SEOTY award is presented at winner's campus. |
