“Women Nobel Peace Prize Winners” by Anita Price Davis, Charles A. Dana Professor of Education Emerita at Converse College, Spartanburg, S.C, and Marla J. Selvidge, Ph.D., professor emerita of religious studies at UCM, was published by McFarland Press in December, 2015. It chronicles the lives and accomplishments of all of the female Nobel Peace Prize Winners from 1905-2014. Author and educator, Regina Birchem, wrote the Forward.

A University of Central Missouri professor who has been involved in a 20-year-long continuous research project with a global network of individuals using computer processors, has discovered the world’s largest known prime number. It was found on a computer at UCM - Lee’s Summit.

With a Master of Science in Ethical & Strategic Leadership and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Amber has been at the forefront of guiding UCM students on their career and life paths since 2008. As the director of the Career and Life Design Center, she leverages life design principles and a commitment to career readiness to help students navigate their next steps and build the skills they need to thrive in today’s workforce. But Amber’s journey wasn’t always centered around academia—she was once on track to become a professional bowler before life handed her a proverbial gutter ball. Today, we’ll explore how she pivoted from the bowling lanes to a lane focused on shaping lives and careers at UCM. Listen in as we speak with Amber Goreham.
