Technology Support for Students

Get started - A student technology guide

Students are provided with technology resources to help them redefine what's possible from day one. Below is a guide to help you find the resources available to all students. Let's get started!

New Students - Log In Checklist

There are a number of technology resources available to students once they are officially enrolled with the University of Central Missouri. Everything starts with Single Sing-On page that requires a Network ID and password. Multi-factor Authentication (DUO) is an additional layer of security required for all UCM accounts.

☑&Բ;Access Your Account

MyCentral should be your first stop as a new student as it is the main hub for accessing UCM resources, including enrollment, housing and financial services.

To access your account for the first time you will need your username (found in your admissions email along with your 700#) and to create a password.

Click “Forgot Password” to create a password unique to your university account. Carefully read through the instructions and credential requirements to create a strong password.

☑&Բ;Set up DUO Mobile (MFA)

Multi-Factor Authentication is an added layer of security that verifies the identity of an account holder before an account can be accessed. This helps to protect the entire campus community from bad actors and scammers.

The Duo Mobile app can be downloaded in the Play Store or App Store. Push notifications are recommended as the most reliable authentication method for Duo.

If a student does not have access to a cellphone that can support the DUO Mobile app they are required to visit the Office of Technology in WDE 0800.

☑&Բ;Access UCM applications

Students automatically have access to applications and software within 24 hours of enrollment.

: UCM Email, Brightspace, James C. Kirkpatrick Library online database, UCMO WiFi, Microsoft365 online, and Adobe Express.

Degree program specific applications, software and equipment are available to students. Please contact your department for more information.
