UCM relies on information systems and technology resources to perform daily operations vital to achieving the University's mission. Information Security designs, implements, and maintains an information security program to protect the University's systems, services, and data from unauthorized use, disclosure, modification, and/or loss.
UCM's Information Security Team is committed to safeguarding the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the University's information systems and technology resources in a manner which strikes a balance between the functional needs of academic disciplines and administrative units against risks to information systems and technology resources.
The Office of Technology Information Security Team works year-round to evaluate risks to university accounts. The month of October is Cybersecurity Awareness Month, when cybersecurity professionals educate the public on the importance of user resilience and vigilance in the face of cyber attacks, scam emails, and phishing attempts.
The Information Security Team will be hosting a Cybersecurity Awareness pop up 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 29 in the Elliott Student Union Atrium to discuss cybersecurity tips and awareness.
