                                             WARRENSBURG, MO – The Chemistry program at the University of Central Missouri recently
                                                received recertification by the Committee on Professional Training of the American
                                                Chemical Society.
                                             
                                              
                                             
                                             The periodic review allows the School of Environmental, Physical and Applied Sciences
                                                to continue to offer ACS certificates to graduates of the program.
                                             
                                              
                                             
                                             In notification of the decision to renew, the committee noted the program’s continued
                                                success in obtaining funding for renovations and a new NMR spectrometer, as well as
                                                the continued increase in enrollment in program courses.
                                             
                                              
                                             
                                             According to program faculty, the most important benefit to students is that potential
                                                employers will know that graduates of the program have an ACS-certified degree and
                                                have been trained in a rigorous, modern, curriculum that prepares them well for post-educational
                                                experiences.
