WARRENSBURG, MO – KMOS-TV, the University of Central Missouri’s public television,
claimed its first Mid-American Chapter Regional Emmy award in the history of the station
at the Mid-America Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences
awards ceremony in St. Louis Sept. 9.

The KMOS-TV production team of, left to right, Eric Boedeker, Meredith Hoenes, Christy
Millen and Roy Millen received Emmy Awards from the Mid-America Chapter of the National
Academy of Television Arts and Sciences for their segment on Silver Dollar City broadcast
on the station’s local program, Missouri Life.
The KMOS-TV production team was recognized for excellence in the Magazine Program
category for the profile of Silver Dollar City on the locally produced program Missouri
Life. In producing the segment on Silver Dollar City, the crew interviewed Herschend
Family Entertainment founders Pete and Jack Herschend, explored Marvel Cave and took
a thrilling ride on a roller coaster.
The KMOS-TV production team responsible for the current season is Thomas Phillips,
Roy Millen, Christy Millen and Eric Boedeker. The on-screen host is Meredith Hoenes,
who previously has worked with KMIZ-TV in Columbia and KSHB-TV and WDAF-TV in Kansas
City.
“Missouri Life is a labor of love for all involved,” said Josh Tomlinson, UCM director
of Broadcasting Services. “It is only possible through our partnership with Missouri
Life magazine and the wonderful places and communities we feature, not to mention
our dedicated production staff."
Missouri Life on KMOS-TV is produced in partnership with Missouri Life magazine and
publishers Greg Wood and Danita Allen Wood. The third season of Missouri Life premieres
on Oct 5, and this season the team will visit Cape Girardeau, Callaway County, Chariton
County, Moberly, Newton County and Pulaski County. Missouri Life is the first KMOS-TV
local production that airs on all PBS stations in Missouri and may be watched on the
PBS app or online at video.kmos.org.
KMOS-TV serves the citizens of 38 central Missouri counties with quality educational
content and experiences online, over-the-air and in our communities. Programming is
integral to engaged learning as a professional learning lab for students from a variety
of disciplines at UCM. KMOS-TV broadcasts programming on four channels throughout
the region with programs for all ages on 6.1, lifestyle and how-to programs; on 6.2,
international news and dramas; on 6.3; and a full schedule of kid’s programming to
fit the schedule of every busy family on 6.4.
Greg Wood and Danita Allen Wood revived a previous version of the magazine to feature
Missouri’s stunning scenery, fascinating people, rich history, and energetic present.
Missouri Life magazine is delivered to 26,000 Missourians and has received many awards
from state and international organizations, including the IRMA Magazine of the Year
Award in 2008 and 2012.
