                                             WARRENSBURG, MO – The University of Central Missouri Department of Theatre and Dance
                                                will present its spring mainstage production of William Shakespeare's The Taming of
                                                the Shrew April 6-10 in the James L. Highlander Theatre.
                                             
                                             Curtain time for the production, under the direction of Richard Herman, professor
                                                of theatre, are 7:30 p.m. April 6-9 and 2 p.m. and April 10. ASL interpretation will
                                                be available for the Thursday evening performance.
                                             
                                             The Meridith Harmon Sauer Guest Artist Series will host New York-based designer Todd
                                                Potter as guest scenic designer for the production. Potter is a professional designer
                                                and member of the United Scenic Artists. He received an MFA in scenic design from
                                                the University of Missouri-Kansas City and an MA in theatre from UCM.
                                             
                                             Tickets for season ticket holders will be available at the theatre box office in in
                                                Wood 128 on March 30 and for the general public on March 31. The box office is open
                                                from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays, or tickets may be reserved by calling the box office
                                                at 660-543-8811 or online at ucmo.edu/theatretickets. Tickets prices are $12 for the
                                                general public, $10 for UCM faculty, staff, senior citizens, and military personnel
                                                and $7 for students.
                                             
                                             The cast of The Taming of the Shrew will include Chris Scott as Baptista; Stephanie
                                                Laaker as Katharina; Leah Eggiman as Bianca; Austin Hook as Hortensio; Steven Covert
                                                as Gremio; Connor Bosworth as Lucentio; Ahafia Jurkiewicz-Miles as Biondello; Daniel
                                                Parman as Petruchio; Bryson Kenworthy as Grumio; Sam Wells as Pendant; Brady Stoher
                                                as Vincentio; Abigail Christensen as Widow; Emmy Panzica as Peggy; Dalton Pittenger
                                                as Nathaniel; Danielle Sachse; Tianna Richardson; Emily Bridges as seamstress; Lisa
                                                Fiori as Bonnet Maker; Nellie Maple as Bartender; Jennifer Scott as Piano Player;
                                                and Michael Miller, Adam Segura, Joshua Capps, Aaron Dougherty, Chase Hunt, and Dalton
                                                Pittenger as Gamblers, Miners and Citizens.
