Elizabeth Svoboda, author of the University of Central Missouri’s One Campus, One Book selection, What Makes a Hero? The Surprising Science of Selflessness will present a book talk at 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 12, in Hendricks Hall. A book signing is planned following each talk.

Amended Charter Agreement with Crossroads Academy Among Board Actions

Expansion of a charter school agreement to include additional educational services to students in Kansas City, updated services regarding life safety system testing and inspection, a new graduate certificate program, and a contract for airport grading and tree clearing improvements were among action items approved by the University of Central Missouri Board of Governors when it met on campus Oct. 16.

The Performing Arts Series at the University of Central Missouri, in conjunction with the Department of Music, presents “Love and Longing,” a concert of romantic love duets performed by soprano Tracy Cox and tenor Ben Gulley, accompanied by Dale Morehouse on piano. The concert is planned for 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 28, in Hart Recital Hall.
