Learn the skills you need to be a highly valued technical communicator

Through the University of Central Missouri’s Certificate in Professional Technical Communication - Portfolio course, students will build a powerful online or hardcopy portfolio. The writing samples included in this valuable portfolio will help you gain employment or advance in your current job as a technical communicator. Coursework projects are in areas such as business, high-tech and governmental writing samples. Median annual pay for skilled technical writers is approximately $71,850, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. Job growth in this area is forecast at close to 8 percent through 2028 with an estimated 4,700 new jobs expected over the next decade. Through this program, students earn a certificate of completion and continuing education units which may not be applied to a degree program and are not eligible for federal financial aid.
